Paramedical officer specialization

The training has eight semesters, works on a regular full-time basis or as a correspondence course and ends with a diploma.

The aim of the paramedic training is to train professionals who are familiar with basic health science knowledge (anatomy, physiology, pre-hospital care), and are able to make quick, independent, and effective decisions, as well as coordinate emergency situations, assessing the patient's physical and mental condition. In addition, they gain sufficient knowledge in specialized fields such as internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, pediatrics, and obstetrics.

During the practical training, you work with real tools and situations, so you not only learn the theoretical foundations of emergency medical science but are also prepared for everyday situations. In such situations, you can test your problem-solving skills, knowledge of the medications used, and your communication with patients.

Another strength of the program is that the practical sessions are not only held on the university campus but also at the clinical departments of the University of Szeged, as well as at the city’s ambulance station, where you will participate in exercises on ambulances and emergency vehicles. Here, you will encounter real emergency situations and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge through direct patient care.

Thus, the paramedic training at the University of Szeged provides a comprehensive and thorough preparation, both at a theoretical and practical level.

This program is not available in English at this time.
