At the invitation of the Institut Supérieur des Professions Infirmiéres et Techniques de Santé de Tetouan y ses annexes in Tangier and Al Hoceima, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies of the University of Szeged visited the institution from 5–12 September 2025.

The Hungarian delegation was represented by Dr. Zsanett Renáta Csoma, Vice-Dean for General and Scientific Affairs, Dr. Angelika Szatmári, Head of Department and Associate Professor, and Dr. Katalin Grezsa-Szabó, Head of the Dean’s Office.

Following preliminary consultations, the official programme was organized. Based on discussions with the Moroccan university, the delegation aims to support student and staff mobility programmes in nursing education, as well as to establish long-term educational and scientific cooperation. As part of the professional programme, the institution’s Director, Mr. Abdellah Mellouki, signed a trilingual cooperation agreement between the two universities.

After being welcomed by the university leadership, our delegation attended several presentations given by the Moroccan faculty. Prof. Nisrin El Mlili presented the institute’s history, traditions, and values; Ilyass Bouchri discussed the nursing education programme; Prof. Loukili Ahmed introduced the rehabilitation and re-education training; Prof. Dia-Eddine Oudghiri presented the medical assistant and social work programmes; Dr. Zohra Ben Allal spoke about midwifery training; Prof. Imad Lamniai presented the health technician programme, as well as the Master’s programmes in nursing and health technology; and Prof. Hanan Ahabrach introduced the Master’s programme in health care.

Our delegation presented detailed information about the University of Szeged, its faculties, and the available training opportunities, with particular emphasis on the well-established international programmes offered in English across nearly all faculties. The number of students studying in English is steadily increasing each year. While most international students come from other European countries and Asia, nearly 10% now come from the African continent.

After presenting the training opportunities, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies showcased its departments and specializations. Special emphasis was placed on the Nursing Department, presented by Dr. Angelika Szatmári. Detailed presentations of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes were provided, including semester-by-semester overviews, theoretical and practical subjects, examination schedules, and the process for final theses. These presentations help identify which semesters students can join the Hungarian or Moroccan nursing programmes.

The delegation also visited the university’s modern skills laboratories, where students participate in specialized simulation exercises. In these computer-assisted and instructor-guided scenarios, students make therapeutic decisions in realistic situations, deepening their theoretical and practical knowledge.

Prof. Dr. Adil Najdi, Vice-Dean for Research and Cooperation at the University of Tangier, and the Head of the Educational, Research, and Innovation Department of the VI Mohammed University Hospital, welcomed the delegation at the university hospital, where several outpatient and inpatient departments were presented.

The presentations and clinical visits were followed by an extended, informal discussion, during which our ongoing research projects and potential points of collaboration were explored. Our annual “Professional Week,” organized by ETSZK in Szeged every April, was highlighted, and the Moroccan colleagues were invited to participate in lectures and workshops.

The delegation also mentioned the 1st Szeged International Health Sciences Conference, held in May 2025, which featured numerous distinguished international experts. The next conference is scheduled for May 2027, and Moroccan colleagues from Tangier and Tetouan are warmly invited to participate as both students and presenters.

The Faculty’s Scientific Committee will organize an online workshop in autumn 2025 to discuss potential scientific cooperation between the two institutions in more detail.

Our faculty was also invited to participate in the International Day of Research in Health Sciences on 13 November 2025. Teaching Assistant Katalin Julianna Dinnyés will represent our faculty with her presentation titled “Value System and Health Behavior of Young Adults: Associations with Life Satisfaction and Well-being.”

Overall, the official discussions were very promising, and both parties fully confirmed their commitment to establishing and developing further professional, educational, and research cooperation.
