I determined to mentor new students because while some of my mates were finding it difficult to navigate new environment, it was easier for me because my mentor had started guiding and tutoring me before my arrival. I was able to register my courses on coospace, know how to utilize neptun and modulo right from my country. After I got here, she taught me how to buy bus tickets, register SIM card, and manage everyday life in the city.
This wonderful experience inspired me and made me promise myself that I would give back to my community by helping other students in navigating this new environment.

Hello, My name is Asadu Lilian Sochimaobi, and I am a nursing student at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies, University of Szeged.
One of the biggest challenges for me when I started university was adapting to a new environment, understanding the university systems, and balancing studies with daily life in a new country. Over time, I became more confident and learned how to manage university life more effectively.
I enjoy meeting new people, learning about different cultures, travelling, and spending time with friends. I consider myself friendly, supportive, and approachable.I decided to become a mentor because I understand how confusing and stressful the first months at university can be for new international students. Having support and guidance makes adapting to a new country and education system much easier. I would like to help new students feel comfortable, settle in easily, and enjoy their experience at the university.
I live in an apartment in Szeged, so I can also help with questions about accommodation, student life, and living in the city, where to shop, where to get things a bit cheaper, where to get bus tickets etc . In addition, I can assist students with using CooSpace and Neptun,especially during course registration periods.
